Rich Stowell, Master Flight Instructor

Rich Stowell has been a full-time aviation educator specializing in spin, emergency maneuver, and aerobatic training since 1987. The author of three aviation books and more than 75 magazine articles, he has  presented more than 330 aviation seminars stretching from Alaska to Florida and California to Massachusetts, as well as programs in Canada, Japan, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

Rich is a subject matter expert on general aviation safety issues and serves as Lead Flight Facilitator for Take Flight Workshops. He has provided more than 8,700 hours of flight instruction, and is the 2014 National FAA Safety Team Rep of the Year and the 2006 National Flight Instructor of the Year. Rich has received many other awards for aviation safety and education, and has earned the “All Five” aerobatic achievement award from the International Aerobatic Club. He holds a BSME from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.

Presenter Linda Castner, Master Aviation Educator

Linda Fritsche Castner, Master Aviation Educator

Linda Fritsche Castner grew up on her family’s small airport in Pittstown, NJ, and has owned and operated that airport with her brother for the last two decades. A licensed Private Pilot and Advanced Ground Instructor, she is President of Up, Up, and Away in Hunterdon, Inc., which promotes general aviation through innovative aviation-themed programs. With the help of a Garrett A. Morgan Technology and Transportation Education Program grant, she created the Central Jersey Aviation Education Collaborative.

Drawing on diverse backgrounds in corporate health and wellness, collegiate coaching and teaching, and general aviation, Linda developed and serves as Lead Ground Facilitator for Take Flight Workshops, a leadership training experience shown to help women realize peak performance in their personal and professional lives. She is an author and motivational speaker, and received the 2011 MAAC Award for Innovations in Aviation Education in NJ. She holds an M.S. in Exercise Physiology.

Joe Corlett is a pilot and a Principal at Mountain States Appraisal and Consulting, Inc., a fully staffed, Boise-based commercial real estate appraisal and consulting firm established in 1973. A native of Idaho, Joe started flying at the age of 13 and is the Vice President of Communications for the Idaho Aviation Association.
